What is your favorite thing about the work you do?

My favorite thing is to bring things I find in research into the classroom and see the real impact it has on students. The things that I am able to research are deeply affecting the industry they are heading into, so they are eager to discuss them. It makes me feel I'm on the right track to do the actual impact that matters.

What are you currently working on?

I'm currently working on a couple of projects, but the one I'm most focused on is one that aims to increase visibility for local news organizations in digital spaces. This work combines algorithm audits of Google and an analysis of the news sources it selects with actionable insights into how news publishers can increase their reach.
