Advancing Professional Track Faculty (APTF)

What is APTF?

Advancing Professional Track Faculty (APTF) is a peer network for early-career (1-3 years at UMD) PTK faculty. The goals of the program are to:

  • Strengthen professional networks
  • Build knowledge and awareness of strategies for professional growth
  • Enhance knowledge of policies, practices and resources pertaining to PTK career success.

How APTF Works

  • The professional community will meet 4 times each semester; meetings will be in person. There will not be hybrid options for in-person meetings.
  • We ask that participants commit to attending at least 80% of the monthly meetings to receive the full benefits of the program.
  • Meeting Time: 12:00 - 2:00pm (Lunch will be served)
  • Meeting Dates:
    • Fall 2025: September 12, October 3, November 7, December 5
    • Spring 2026: February 6, February 20, April 10, May 8
  • Facilitators: Dr. Ursula Gorham and Dr. Dawn Culpepper

How to Apply

Application for this program is open until August 1st, 2025. Applicant information will be reviewed to determine that participants meet the eligibility criteria. Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis but all will be notified of their acceptance status by August 1, 2025.  Register Here.
