Dr. Traci Dula is a two-time Terp alum and is the Associate Director for Academic Policy and Administration for the Honors College. Throughout her various roles in higher education, which spans both academic and student affairs arenas, she has been dedicated to matters of equity and accountability in hiring practices and leading difficult conversations regarding workplace climate. Dr. Dula serves as co-chair of the advisory board for The 1856 Project and member of the BSU-UMD Social Justice Alliance. Dr. Dula’s research interest is the history of higher education including race, equity and access; the history of HBCUs (historically Black Colleges and Universities); collegiate honors education; and the contemporary experiences of underrepresented collegians in honors programs within U.S. higher education institutions. Most recently, she is studying the role of K-12 educators’ influence on the Civil Rights Movement as team member of an oral history research project, Teachers In the Movement.
