Nneka Chisholm is the UMD Libraries’s first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion officer and a doctoral student at UMBC in the Language, Literacy and Culture department. Ms. Chisholms’ research relates to the media's influence on the Black women’s sexual identity creation and expression. Ms. Chisholm-Edwards has facilitated discussions and training sessions across the country on issues related to public policy, organizational management, and diversity, inclusion and equity. Through her work in the University of Maryland College Park libraries and her research on intersectional communities, it is clear Ms. Chisholm-Edwards has enthusiasm for diversity-based initiatives and her work aims to build upon the university’s trajectory towards social justice.
