Oct .6: ADVANCE-ABRI Faculty Writing Retreat
Join us for dedicated time for writing and scholarly community building! This writing retreat provides time and space for faculty of color and faculty from racially minoritized groups to be individually productive during mid-semester, followed by a panel discussion on Navigating the Academy at UMD.

Dr. Dawn Culpepper, current Associate Director of the ADVANCE Program, will serve as the next Director of the ADVANCE Program beginning July 1, 2023.
Equity Coaches - Call for Nominations 2023-2024
We are seeking nominations (including self-nominations) of faculty and campus administrators (all genders) who would like to participate in the second cohort Equity Coaches. Equity coaches are faculty and administrators who are well versed in the literature on bias in the academic work environment and the strategies for mitigating it, as well in best practices for facilitating equity-based conversations. They will serve as facilitators campus workshops on inclusive hiring for faculty search committees.
